While the yellow window light looks like a wheel , the lion , the lethal protector of the goddess Durga and her battle companion is itself the manifestation of lord Vishnu who took the form of lion as per the puranas.
While Durgapuja of Kolkata ,being a symbolic representation of intangible cultural heritage, it all starts with the artisans of Kumortuli and similar places where the artists sculpt out the idols to be worshipped with silt from the Ganga and hay.
This transformation takes months to reach its final shape and grandeur after which they are celebrated, but the way the magical transformation takes place depicts the true dedication towards the art form and giving the festivities their final pomp.
